An advanced six-speed manual transmission engages the range of engines, which includes updated versions of the responsive 1.8 and 2.0 litre petrol and an updated 2.0l diesel (140 PS). Steering and handling enhancements give a greater sense of smoothness, precision and confidence.

Environmental and safety performance has also been enhanced. Safety features include a new brake system with larger disc brakes; ABS, DSC, electronic traction control, brake assist, front active headrests and 6 airbags for all vehicles in Ireland.

Clever engineering has improved fuel efficiency and CO₂ levels. Although slightly larger than its predecessor, by conducting thorough weight reduction measures, vehicle weight reduction of up to 35 kilograms has been achieved, depending on specification and model. In conjunction to the overall vehicle weight reduction, all engines in the range have been fine-tuned, where for example the 1.8-litre petrol engine’s fuel efficiency and CO₂ level has been improved by over 11 percent.
